When boys carry bombs in backpacks
Lord, have mercy.
When cancer empties inside out
Lord, have mercy.
When mothers give in
Lord, have mercy.
When death drives by
Lord, have mercy.
When foundations fail and floods come and evil is on the move
Lord, have mercy.
When it’s not just on television
Lord, have mercy.
When we are burdened and sorrow filled
Lord, have mercy.
When darkness falls
Lord, have mercy upon us and
Lord, send light.
I love your heart and the way your spirit expresses itself… I can relate – my heart relates – I am a fellow sojourner who often feels and experiences the darkness that threatens to overtake, the sorrow and pain of the world – mine included. I constantly remind myself of the fact that I abide in Light itself and that darkness is conquered forever more – I don’t always feel it nor understand it but I do know it !!

“when it’s not just on television” – a sobering, almost macabre epiphany for us all!
